Meet Aleena Kaka, AMFT

  • I’m inspired by the opportunity to walk alongside women as they reconnect with themselves and begin to feel more at ease in their lives. Many of the clients I work with are highly capable and outwardly “doing well,” yet feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck in cycles of stress and self-doubt. Supporting clients as they slow down, build awareness, and experience meaningful shifts feels deeply rewarding. I’m especially inspired by moments when clients begin to feel more grounded, self-compassionate, and empowered to move through life with greater clarity and confidence.

  • I’m most passionate about working with women who are navigating anxiety, burnout, relationship challenges, and identity-related stress. Many of my clients are professionals, creatives, or caretakers who are accustomed to holding a lot for others.

As an immigrant, I’m particularly attuned to the experiences of bicultural women who are balancing multiple roles, expectations, and cultural worlds. Clients often come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, disconnected from themselves, or unsure how to break patterns that no longer serve them.

  • My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and authentic. I aim to create a space where clients feel safe to slow down, reflect, and explore their experiences without judgment. I integrate evidence-based practices with a holistic, mind-body perspective, helping clients build practical tools to manage anxiety, improve communication, and strengthen their sense of self. Sessions feel grounding, supportive, and thoughtful, balancing insight with tangible strategies clients can apply in their everyday lives. My goal is for clients to leave sessions feeling more connected to themselves, more resourced, and more hopeful.

  • My work as a therapist is shaped by my clinical training in evidence-based and trauma-informed approaches, as well as my lived experience navigating identity, culture, and belonging as a child of immigrants. I approach therapy from a multicultural, social justice–informed perspective, recognizing how systemic factors shape individual experiences. This allows me to provide care that is both evidence-based and culturally attuned. Ongoing learning and self-reflection are central to my work, and I’m committed to providing care that is ethical, thoughtful, and grounded in both science and compassion.
